Hey there! If you’re currently in or planning to come to Ireland for studies or work, you might have heard that you need something called a PPSN. But do you know how to apply for one? No worries! Let’s break down the steps to smoothly secure your Personal Public Service Number (PPSN), making your life and studies in Ireland a breeze.

What documents do you need to apply for a PPSN?
Firstly, you will need a valid proof of identity, such as your passport. Next, you will also need to prove your address, which can be a utility bill or an official document from the last three months. These documents ensure that your application complies with regulations and prove your residency eligibility.
- Your Identity (Passport)
- Why you need a PPS Number (this will need to be specified when filling out the form)
- Your Address
Proof of Address
ou will need to provide proof of your address. You can use any of the following documents for this purpose (the document must show your name and address and must not be older than 3 months):
- Utility bill (electricity/wifi, etc.)
- Official letter or document
- Financial statement
- Property lease or tenancy agreement
- Employer letter
- School letter (only applicable for schools with QQI accreditation)
- Third Party (If you are living with friends or relatives, an original household bill along with a note from the bill holder confirming your residency at that address is acceptable. This note can be written on the bill itself.)
